On July 9, as part of his state visit to Tajikistan, Sadyr Japarov, President of Kyrgyzstan, met with Rustami Emomali, Chairman of the National Assembly (the upper chamber of the Parliament of Tajikistan) and Faizali Idizoda, Chairman of the Assembly of Representatives of the Supreme Assembly of Tajikistan.
Before the talks, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic was given a tour of the new building of the Tajik Parliament. During the tour, he left a message in the book of honored guests.
In the course of the talks in Dushanbe, both parties expressed mutual willingness to expand interparliamentary cooperation.
Greeting the Kyrgyz leader, Rustami Emomali called his visit an important event that paves the way for new opportunities for cooperation at all levels.
Faizali Idizoda underlined the importance of strengthening good neighborly relations between the two countries. He also announced the establishment of a new parliamentary group on friendship with Kyrgyzstan in the Parliament of Tajikistan.
Sadyr Japarov pointed out that the Kyrgyz Republic attaches special importance to the parliamentary dimension, considering it as an essential component of sustainable partnership.
"The Kyrgyz side is determined to create an environment for the progressive development of the two countries in an peaceful, stable and safe setting, together with our Tajik colleagues," Sadyr Japarov stated.
According to the President of Kyrgyzstan, the agreements reached will serve as a solid basis for further deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation between Bishkek and Dushanbe.
