Imangali Tasmagambetov, CSTO Secretary General, praised the Kyrgyz Republic's chairmanship in the Organization. He made a corresponding statement in a comment to RIA Novosti.
"It's important to note that the political leadership of the Kyrgyz Republic is well acquainted with the peculiarities of the Central Asian region and its issues and is taking active steps to stabilize the situation here. Some of the security tasks are being carried out in neighboring Tajikistan, where Nerushimoye Bratstvo–2025 joint exercises are currently taking place with the Peacekeeping Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, as well as Barrier-2025 special exercise, aimed at joint formation of nuclear, biological and chemical protection and medical support. Given the difficult situation in this part of Eurasia, the readiness of Collective Forces and assets to perform their respective tasks is becoming increasingly important and relevant," the CSTO Secretary General pointed out.
Kyrgyzstan, as the chair country of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in 2025, has fulfilled all its plans, Imangali Tasmagambetov said.
"Kyrgyzstan approached the implementation of the CSTO chairmanship priorities with utmost responsibility. I'd like to commend the Kyrgyz side for the constructive, high-levelcooperation with the CSTO Secretariat, the total mutual understanding and support for our initiatives and all the events we planned for this year," Imangali Tasmagambetov underlined.
The Secretary General pointed out that one of the priorities of Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship was to improve cooperation on preventing and countering the use of information technology for terrorist and extremist purposes. Success in this line of work was reported at the international conference on cybersecurity in Issyk-Kul and at the specially organized cyber exercises.
"Generally speaking, all Kyrgyzstan's plans for the 2025 chairmanship have been fulfilled. Therefore, none of the priorities of the Kyrgyz Republic's chairmanship (in the CSTO) remained unaddressed. The results of the chairmanship will be announced at the meeting of the Collective Security Council to be held on November 27 in Bishkek. I believe that Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship will be highly esteemed by the heads of the CSTO Member States," the CSTO Secretary General emphasized.
