Sergei Aleinik: Belarus Advocates for a Reset of the International Security System
Sergei Aleinik, Chairman of the Permanent Commission on International Affairs and National Security of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, speaking on October 20 in Geneva at the 151st session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly, said that the Republic of Belarus advocates for a reset of the international security system and strengthening of international peace.
"The world is changing rapidly. The transformation process has affected the architecture of international security, which in its current state is unable to ensure the preservation of peace and stability in the long term. There are various reasons for this. But it is also obvious that the disregard of the principle of indivisible security by some Western countries has provoked the complex situation we are witnessing today in Eastern Europe, including the conflict in Ukraine," Sergei Aleinik pointed out.
The Belarusian parliamentarian made his speech during a meeting of the IPU Standing Committee on Peace and International Security.
As you may recall, a delegation from the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly is participating in the 151st session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly.
