On April 27, Russia celebrates Parliamentarism Day. The memorable date was established by the Federal Law of June 27, 2012. It is timed to coincide with the first session of the State Duma of the Russian Empire, which took place in 1906 in the Tavrichesky Palace in St. Petersburg.
According to the Russian Constitution, the representative and legislative body of the state is the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, which consists of two chambers: the Federation Council and the State Duma.
On this day, special events and meetings with parliamentarians take place. Deputies and employees of legislative bodies receive congratulations. Particular attention is paid to the role of parliament as a platform for dialog, decision-making and development of civil society.
On April 27-28, the Tavrichesky Palace in St. Petersburg will host a meeting of the Council of Legislators of the Russian Federation, which will be held by Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, and Valentina Matviyenko, Chairwoman of the Federation Council.
