Today marks the 33rd anniversary of the signing of the Collective Security Treaty. In 2002, it received the international regional organization status, known as the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
Today, the Organization is the guarantor of stability and security for its Member States: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. The accumulated experience makes the Organization an essential part of the new architecture of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia.
The allies continue their joint efforts on the systematic development of the CSTO's potential. They strengthen the foreign policy coordination and practical cooperation in combating international terrorism, extremism, drug and weapon trafficking, organized transnational crime and illegal migration. Furthermore, the Organization works on developing new areas of cooperation in the areas of information and biological security.
Preserving the memory of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) remains a priority for the CSTO. Leaders of all the CSTO Member States paid tribute to the memory of war heroes at solemn events in Moscow, held to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Victory.
