CSTO PA Attaches Great Importance to the Collaboration Within the IPU Geopolitical Group "Eurasia"

On April 5, a meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union geopolitical group "Eurasia" took place in Tashkent.

Sergei Pospelov, Executive Secretary of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, and Dmitriy Kobitskiy, Secretary General of the Council of the IPA CIS, addressed the meeting participants with a welcoming speech.

The geopolitical group reviewed the results of the meeting of the IPU's Executive Committee, which was held on April 3, 2025. They paid special attention to the amendments to the Statutes and Rules of the Union.

At the meeting, the participants discussed the preparation of events related to the upcoming 150th IPU Assembly, as well as the initiatives dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. In particular, they adopted the draft Statement of the geopolitical group "Eurasia" dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.

Sergei Rachkov, Chairman of the "Eurasia" geopolitical group, Chairman of the Standing Commission on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, underlined that the members of the group consider it extremely important to "pay tribute to the heroes who defended our peace and freedom."
