Igor Borisov, member of the Russian CEC, made a speech at the CSTO PA thematic session within the framework of SPILF-2025 "The Security Umbrella of Eurasian Integration".
In his speech, Igor Borisov emphasized the importance of developing common approaches to solving legal tasks that contribute to global security and sustainability of state sovereignty, including the approach to electoral procedures.
"The goal of the Russian electoral system today is to increase the level of reliability and stability of legal and organizational mechanisms that enable the democratic procedures – referendums, free elections, other types of voting – regardless of any challenges and threats," Igor Borisov pointed out.
The CEC member stressed that despite the continuing pressure from the collective West, the Russian CEC intends not only to improve the legal framework to protect elections from interference, but also to share experience with partners to ensure the free expression of citizens' will and protect electoral sovereignty.
